| SPG receives L-A-D Grant for Publication of "Caring for your Karst" |

Springfield Plateau Grotto applied for, and
received, a $5,000 conservation grant from the L-A-D Foundation to
publish a helpful guide for landowners in the wise management of
their karst resources. The booklet will be authored primarily
by SPG members who are expert in their various fields of geology,
biology, etc. We are hoping for an early 2008 publication
date. It is hoped that the illustrated manual will be
distributed throughout the Ozarks region to further the wise use of
our karst lands for both the benefit of the landowners and the
spring and cave ecosystems that depend on quality groundwater
supplies.
